The Kyiv International Short Film Festival (KISFF) began its journey in 2011, culminating in its first edition in spring 2012. Since then, regardless of circumstances, it has been an annual fixture, steadfast in its commitment to championing the art of short filmmaking. As an independent, non-profit, non-governmental organization, our primary mission is to elevate the profile of short films, providing a platform for both emerging and established filmmakers to showcase their creativity and share their stories with the world.
The festival serves as a vibrant hub for artistic exchange, fostering dialogue and collaboration among filmmakers and industry professionals. We aspire to empower film artists, encouraging them to push boundaries, explore diverse themes, and strive for excellence in their craft. Through curated competition programs, thematic film selections, retrospectives, and a rich array of lectures, workshops, and educational events, we aim to cultivate a community where artistic innovation thrives.
In essence, the KISFF is more than just a festival; it is a celebration of storytelling, creativity, and the transformative and all-transcending power of cinema. As we continue to evolve and expand our reach, we remain dedicated to our core values of inclusivity, diversity, equity, and artistic excellence, striving to inspire and engage audiences both locally and internationally.
