How I Spent My Summer Holidays?
dir. Antonio Lukich
2023 / documentary / HD , DCP / 14’
This film is an attempt to give a clear form to the important theme of 'adolescents' by asking a simple question – to reveal a complex topic not only for Ukraine but also for the world. It risks becoming not only an interesting exploration with a plethora of surprises but also a valuable document of our time.
I became curious about how teenagers in modern Ukraine spent their summer.
Do teenagers from Kyiv, Kharkiv, Nemishayeve, Lviv, Mykolaiv and Zaporizhzhia feel life differently or, on the contrary, similarly? What do they have in common, and what sets them apart? We are used to hearing stories about 'vacations by the sea,' 'bike rides,' and 'sports victories.' But what will teenagers in modern Ukraine tell us? Will their lives look somehow different? Or is even the war unable to cancel their youth and passion for life, emotions, and adventures?

In Budapest, Maria, who was forced to leave Ukraine, embarks on a quest for a neighbour in her rented apartment. She extends a warm invitation for like-minded women to drop by, explore the flat, and engage in conversations.
The discussions about food habits, cleanliness in the home, and bedtime routines transition into intimate conversations about what the feeling of home and loneliness means. And when Ukrainian girls visit Maria one after another, the search for a neighbour turns into a poignant exchange of details about the traumatic experience of war and forced displacement.

dir. Liza Pyrozhkova
2023 / documentary / HD, DCP / 13,5’
A short film about the town of Izium, located in the Kharkiv region. Izium was severely damaged during the warfare in the region. Even after its liberation, the city remained isolated - public transport as well as mobile connection were not functioning. The highest hill in the city called Kremiianets became the only place where locals could catch a signal. After months of occupation, the hill turned into an "island of communication," where people could finally reconnect with their loved ones

Comma
dir. Sonia Leliukh
2023 / animation / HD, DCP / 4’
At a busy train station, a human with an ever-exploding head stumbles upon an old newspaper. This discovery opens a portal to a world of different stories, all intertwined by a shared theme: the war in Ukraine. Despite the war's impact, each story depicts people living normally, dancing, walking their dogs, and engaging in peaceful activities.
Although their lives have been altered, they persist and strive to find meaning in a world where a missile attack can ruin your house daily. The film utilizes a stop-motion technique crafted from newspaper clippings in various languages, illustrating the chronological progression of the war. Visually, the film is made with pastels in the traditional 2d method, lending it a distinctive style and atmosphere.
